The Best Reactions to Kiip & RunKeeper’s Rewardable Workouts

Posted on by Brittany Fleit, Marketing Lead

If you haven’t heard the news yet, we partnered with RunKeeper to provide rewardable workouts!

When people learned they could receive discounts on Pebble Watches and free samples from Quaker, Secret and more, well, they went a little crazy.

Below are some of our favorite quotes from the press.

From Engadget: "You tell yourself you're gonna go running. You might even have an app that gently prods you to get your lazy keister up off the couch. But let's be honest, the most effective motivator is the good ol' fashioned bribe. That's why RunKeeper is teaming up with Kiip, a company that delivers ads and rewards through games and mobile apps. The idea isn't just to get you casually jogging though, but to actually get you to push yourself."

From The Next Web: "When it’s raining outside or you’re tired after a long day at work, summoning the motivation to go running can be difficult. Today, RunKeeper is providing an extra incentive through a new rewards program courtesy of Kiip, which offers discounts, freebies and other optional prizes as you hit new milestones and improve your fitness levels."

From The Mac Observer: "The rewards will be offers for free or discounted health and fitness-related products, which sounds a lot like in-app ads, but the company is working to present them in a way that doesn't offend users and actually gives them something of value."

From AdExchanger: "The object is to bestow meaningful, targeted rewards that spark action when users are at their most engaged, rather than serving mobile display ads that just generate awareness."

Turns out, users are pretty happy, too.

If you don't already have the RunKeeper app, download it on iOS or Android. Every user deserves to be rewarded.
