Kiip Takes Rewards to Airports Across the U.S., Just in Time for Summer Travel

Posted on by Brionna Lewis, Digital Marketing Associate

Imagine you're sitting in an airport, you have an one hour layover and your flight just got delayed another 45 minutes. You’re hungry and you’re bored— we’ve all been there. What if you could enjoy a meal while passing the time playing iPad games and earning rewards you can redeem right from your seat? Well, we made it so you can.

We partnered with OTG to offer travelers great rewards in 7,000 of their restaurant iPads located in airports across the country. Kiip and OTG wanted to provide travelers with innovative, digital meets physical world experiences by allowing users to earn points virtually that can be redeemed immediately and delivered right to their seat.

For example, travelers playing a virtual game of Blackjack while waiting for their flight can earn points for a free cookie that OTG will bring to them at their seat in the restaurant.Screen Shot 2016-06-10 at 1.07.44 PM

To bring this vision to life, Kiip integrated into eight pre-loaded games in the OTG iPads where  users can earn both tokens to keep playing their games and reward points that can be redeemed for snacks and other items at OTG restaurant locations. Users can also save their rewards points and cash them in for even bigger prizes like headphones or a fitness watch that OTG can ship to their home while they’re on the go.

OTG manages restaurants in nine U.S. locations and one in Canada. OTG operates one of the largest network of iPads in the world (second only to the Apple Store) and services over 100 million travelers a year. Kiip rewards are currently live in the Philadelphia International Airport and will soon be available in all locations.
