Insight of the Week: Travel Planning
The days are longer, the are nights warmer, and giant pool floaties are almost back in season. Because of the favorable weather, kids and college students being out of school, and its position half way across the calendar from the winter holidays, it’s no surprise that people are gearing up for a busy travel season.
The Endless Summer
Summer is by far the most popular time to travel. A whopping 69% of respondents reported that it was their planned time to vacation this year. Unsurprising, the autumn months following summer are the least popular, with only 7% claiming that’s when they travel most often.

Spontaneous summer travel is just as if not more likely than a longer, planned out vacation. 24% of respondents claim they typically spend 1 - 2 weeks planning for a vacation, and 23% would prefer 1 - 2 months to plan for a vacation. We might be dreaming of white sand beaches and temperatures above 50 in the winter months, but planning a vacation 6+ months in advance came in last with 14% of respondents reporting that to be their ideal planning time.
